With her first headlining tour Gemeinsam weinen, Elena Rud promises big feelings on
and in front of the stage.
How could they not, because the Munich-based indie band tackles topics such as
mental health, body positivity and feminism in their songs. The five musicians around the
front woman of the same name package these serious topics in a danceable sound of
punky indie with a twisted 80s flair. The charm of Elena's distinctive, raspy voice
is at the center of this snotty indie sound.
In the lyrics, Elena addresses anxiety, sexism and toxic relationships and speaks
to her generation from the soul - somewhere between self-loathing and an insanely
good life.
The four boys not only support their front woman, but also
fight against the toxic ideals by which they themselves are measured: for more weakness,
insecurity and glitter make-up instead of fucking patriarchy.
