KW Institute for Contemporary Art was founded in post-reunification Berlin. Since then, exhibitions have been set up, announced, displayed and dismantled almost without interruption. Over the decades, boxes of archive material have piled up, which Jenny Dirksen has made accessible in recent years. These fragments of the past can now be used to reconstruct numerous retrospectives in order to better understand yesterday's present.

KW, unboxed invites you to take a look behind the scenes. Selected archive material is used to illustrate the development of an almost dilapidated factory into an internationally recognized institution, which has also become part of the city's biography through its own history.

Information on accessibility

Venue:
The event will take place in the front building of KW. The KW Studio is not barrier-free. A staircase with 15 steps and railings leads up to the studio.

Times:
The event starts punctually at 11 am.
Late admission after the start of the event is possible.
The event lasts approx. 90 minutes.
The event is held without breaks.

Seating:
Chairs with backrests will be provided.

Sensory stimuli:
The event has a normal volume.
The event room is bright.

The event takes place in a spacious room.

Language:
The event is mainly held in German.

Aids / accompanying persons:
Assistance dogs can be brought to the event.
Assistance persons can attend the event free of charge.
