In Halle, where the various forms of art and their creators are closer together than in other places, there is the BLECH gallery, to which this characteristic is particularly true. In addition to exhibitions, there are concerts, which occasionally even interweave. On one such occasion, the painter Sylvie Viain and the jazz bassist Albrecht Brandt met. Sylvie Viain already lived in Berlin, where she moved after studying art at Burg Giebichenstein. Albrecht Brandt, on the other hand, returned to his home town of Halle after recently completing his music studies at the HfM Carl Maria von Weber Dresden in order to establish himself as a musician. This phase also involved experimenting, such as a series of concerts in the BLECH toilet called "Klo in Concert" - or what is the piano there for? This is where the first musical encounter took place, which was so good that the decision was made at short notice to create a real band out of it - Eggnog the Nonth was born!
Melancholic melodies, sometimes played with pathos, sometimes full of poetry on the piano, recitative vocals that suddenly disappear into the heights of singing, underpinned, interwoven and carried by the double bass. This could be a description of this duo's music, which is difficult to categorize.
Sylvie Viain - vocals, piano
Albrecht Brandt - double bass
