Edith Niedieck lives and writes in Cologne. After studying business administration at the University of Cologne, she decided to pursue a career as a senior copywriter, did an internship in Singapore and shortly afterwards found a job at a renowned agency in Munich. Her work immediately appeared in advertising yearbooks. Her debut "Luxuslügen" was published in 2019. Her short crime fiction debut "Totpunkt" was nominated for the Wortrandale Berlin literary prize in 2020. Her new crime novel "Geheimniskrämer" was published in October 2021. In 2022, she was invited by the Literaturhaus Den Haag Deutsche Bibliothek. Other literary competitions have brought her success. She is a member of the Syndikat and the Mörderische Schwestern and finds people and their networks mercilessly exciting.

About the event

Look forward to a murderous evening full of atmosphere and suspense! Edith Niedieck will be reading from her crime novel "Geheimniskrämer" (Mystery Man) and will suddenly make things dark over Cologne. Even the popular boss of Rheinische Überlandwerke, Ferdinand Krämer, is electrified: It's not just the collapse of the power grid that causes him problems. Just as coincidentally as the lights seem to have been switched off, a body is found the next morning - and the trail leads straight to him. Can the dead whisper? Not on your life ...
The energetic story is set against the backdrop of current issues such as sustainability and dark machinations, and boasts plenty of humor and sophistication.
