A singer mysteriously becomes mute and unable to move and can no longer perform. A secret is burning inside her. But she is not alone - a combative and determined Edith Piaf is there to bring her back to life. Together, the unlikely duo conjure up a partnership of solidarity and tenderness and embark on a journey full of greatness and vulnerability. However, the journey does not lead forward, but back to an agonizing past.
Based on a true story, Yael Rasooly's one-woman show with puppets, objects and song explores in a virtuoso and innovative way the consequences of violence and the possibilities of reclaiming life and one's own voice through art.
Yael Rasooly is a trained singer and puppeteer. She was born in Jerusalem, Israel, in 1983. She was first trained as a classical singer and then studied theater design in London. She began to develop her unique theatrical language at the School of Visual Theatre in Jerusalem, where she specialized in directing, puppetry and design and graduated with honors.
Since 2006, Yael has been creating independent theater pieces and performing at leading international festivals in Europe, the USA, South America and the Far East. Yael's theatrical language is based on a multidisciplinary approach that combines different forms of theater, puppetry, visual arts and music.
She already wowed audiences at the IMAGINALE 2020 with her productions "Paper Cut" and "The House by the lake".
