ECHT JETZT!25 – WO HIN?

In the organizer's words:

The festival, a trademark of the TheaterPädagogikZentrum BW, will once again find its place in the summery and open cultural landscape of Reutlingen and Tübingen in the coming year.

Where to? - we ask in the subtitle to ECHT JETZT! in the year 2025. Where do I want to go? Where do we want to go and how do we get there? Where are our society and democracy heading? Where are the people whose country is drying up going? Where is the world drifting to? There is certainly no shortage of crises in the country and in the world in these times. But how can they be addressed without falling into depression and hopelessness? Perhaps by asking questions? Perhaps with theatrical fantasies or by taking concrete steps? Perhaps through visions of the future? Or even through utopias? The festival's contributions are allowed to raise and pose questions - without having to answer them: artistically, creatively, discursively, interactively and with all forms of performing arts and performative possibilities. Groupings as a combination of generations, nationalities, amateur and professional artists are addressed and there are no limits to crossover projects in the arts - drama, performance art, music, dance or visual arts. Regional amateur theater groups, associations and institutions, school and youth groups, solo artists and ensembles can participate if they would like to contribute to the festival with a specially created piece. International artists should also be included. As in previous years, they will focus on and express other perspectives, aesthetic forms of expression and, above all, other questions with regard to the theme "Where to". It is becoming increasingly common practice for artists to work with various social groups in their countries on a topic that is relevant to the participants and has an impact on their lives. Such "community works" - projects that combine social work and artistic activity - are on the rise and attempt to bring people into artistic action through everyday content. We would like to discuss such topics at an artists' meeting during the festival and exchange ideas about concepts and projects of "community works" on the subject of visions of the future. The invited international artists come from the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.
