DUSK

In the organizer's words:

"In Nanine Linning's new dance piece, "DUSK" refers to the transition zone between the end and the new beginning - a threshold state between holding on and letting go, in which time seems to expand infinitely and at the same time inevitably passes. A place of transition and transformation. The choreographer tells of an encounter with the transience of existence in a sensual and haunting way. The occasion is personal, it is about saying goodbye to a loved one.
In "DUSK", she concentrates on the essence of dance and movement, trusts completely in the intuitive knowledge of the body, captures feelings of longing and reverence for the inevitable and follows the transition from a pulsating, bright and energetic presence to a shadowy, fragile and fragmenting dissolution. The choreography is carried by the music of Gustav Mahler, John Adams and Arvo Pärt. On this journey into the world of farewell and transition, the Halle Opera Ballet continues its successful collaboration with internationally renowned choreographers. Nanine Linning already introduced herself to local audiences in 2019 with her gripping ballet evening "Hieronymus B." and the critic Christian Gampert recently predicted a "bright future for her as a choreographer" on SWR radio.
