Duo Abend

Three times two - that's the formula for the musical encounter on the duo evening. As always, this 13th Duo Evening is not about hocus-pocus, but about the magic of the smallest possible ensemble line-up. Following the previous Duo Evenings, the press echo consistently reflected the good atmosphere at the concert evenings: headlines such as "musical enjoyment in a double pack" or "a triple pleasure" were printed in concert reviews. The most recent headline in the HNA was: "A special highlight. Heart-warming duo evening in the Theaterstübchen".

At the duo evening in the Theaterstübchen, the audience can once again expect a varied concert program: three Kassel duos consisting of vocals and piano or guitar present their program between pop, soul and jazz. The focus is on three singers and their musical partners. Katja Friedenberg (vocals) and Thomas Höhl (piano) can be heard as "Sentimental Two", Nicole Jukic (vocals) and Lisa Sommerfeld (piano) as "Two Lounge" and the duo Tabea Henkelmann (vocals) and Frank Sommerfeld (guitar) as "New Wings".

Katja Friedenberg and Thomas Höhl have been a well-rehearsed team for 17 years now. With their impressive emotionality and perfect interplay, they are a source of great enthusiasm for their audiences. Since Katja Friedenberg's success in season 1 of "The Voice of Germany", she has worked as a live and studio singer on various concert and TV stages (including 10 years on Sing meinen Song). Thomas Höhl is a successful composer for award-winning video games and films and is on the road with various bands (including Gregor Meyle).

Nicole Jukic and Lisa Sommerfeld conjure up music to dream and groove to with their great joy of playing and their shared musical breath. In addition to their affinity for jazz, both musicians are very keen to experiment. A special trademark of Two Lounge are pop songs wrapped in jazz wrapping paper, which are always a surprise when decorated with two-part vocals.

Singer Tabea Henkelmann and guitarist Frank Sommerfeld present soulful interpretations of well-known and newly discovered songs. As "New Wings", they move between folk and pop. Singer Tabea Henkelmann is a member of KSwing and Season, among others. Guitarist Frank Sommerfeld is at home in the Kassel music scene as a stylistically adept accompanist.

The three duos will perform together as the finale of the entertaining concert evening.
