Doris Akrap: Oh! Dalmatien

A literary and very personal excursion to the Dalmatian coast, which opens up beyond the postcard perspective - Doris Akrap in the taz Talk at the Leipzig Book Fair.

Dalmatia as a classic vacation destination in the south of Croatia tastes of sweet melon and schnapps from plastic bottles. Rattling Vespas, cicadas and the sound of the sea form the soundscape for the vacation. But there is so much more to discover.

🐾 Doris Akrap, born in 1974 in southern Hesse as the daughter of a Dalmatian guest worker. He built a house by the sea, which she looks after. She is mainly to be found in Berlin, where she is head of the society section of the taz newspaper. As a journalist, columnist and author, she also writes about society, literature and politics in Croatia and Dalmatia. She is a co-founder of PEN Berlin. Her new book will be published by folio Verlag on 14.03.2025.

🐾 Friederike Gräff moderates the talk. She is an editor at the taz in Hamburg.
