Berlin-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Donkey Kid makes an impressive returnwith his long-awaited debut album "Heavyweight Champion", which will be released on October 18. The 22-year-old musician, who has built up an international fan base in recent years, combines indie rock with electronic elements on this record, creating an unmistakable sound reminiscent of artists such as The Strokes, MGMT and LCD Soundsystem.

"Heavyweight Champion" sounds as if it is reinventing itself every second. On it, Donkey Kid moves through shimmering synth pads and bouncy guitar riffs, while complex drum patterns flood the room and draw the listener into the dark abysses of his emotional journey. The English-language vocals are sometimes wistful, sometimes distorted, sometimes fragmented - they lose themselves in echo chambers and find themselves in the vast, cosmic basslines. Thematically, the album is a deeply personal exploration of the emotional abysses that Donkey Kid experienced during a difficult relationship. The thirteen tracks on the record deal with themes of loss, self-liberation and healing, skillfully alternating between energetic indie anthems and atmospheric synth-pop moments.

With his upcoming December tour and "Heavyweight Champion" in his luggage, Donkey Kid will not only inspire his national and international fan base, but also show live how intensely his music comes to life on stage.
