Don Alonso Quijano decides to reinvent himself. From now on, as a virtuous and noble man, he wants to live his life according to the ideals he has read so much about. As the knight Don Quixote de la Mancha, he wants to fight against injustice! Fame, success and true love would line his path! His compañero is to be Sancho Panza, a man with a completely different educational background. He willingly throws himself into Quijote's adventure, armed with wooden swords that become sharp blades in their stories. But what are the two heroes fighting against? And what does it even mean to be a knight? Miguel de Cervantes' famous characters Don Quixote and Sancho Panza are not held back by reality.
In his directorial debut, ensemble member Janning Kahnert creates a playful world with Kammerschauspieler Thomas Nunner and Maximilian Pulst, who returns to the Nuremberg ensemble with this production. His production examines contemporary forms of escape from the world, perceptions of reality and the influence that storytelling has on them.
