Dominik Wania: Jazz Piano

Tadeusz Jakubowski (saxophone), composer, winner of international jazz competitions and recipient of the Hamburg Ministry of Culture and Media Prize for promoting young jazz talents, invites the virtuoso pianist Dominik Wania, who researches Ravel's harmony system in contemporary jazz and imaginatively condenses elements of a quiet world into a complex one beyond the everyday. He improvises between classical music and jazz and at the same time plays freely and with an awareness of form. His solo album "Lonely Shadows" is the first by a Polish musician to be released by the world's most renowned jazz label ECM Records. In addition to his performances in numerous jazz constellations, he teaches at the Academy of Music in Krakow and Katowice and composes film music in collaboration with Zbigniew Preisner.
