Dîlan Top, born in Dêrsim, is a Kurdish musician from Germany. With her music, she gives her audience access to the roots, traditions and emotional nuances of her culture.

She completed her professional musical training at the Mainz World Music Academy, where she later also worked as a teacher. There she taught children and young adults the art of tenbûr. At the same time, she completed her studies in economics with a master's degree in management at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz.

Dîlan sings in Kurmancî, Zazakî, Turkish and Armenian and accompanies herself on the tenbûr, a central element of her music. She combines tradition and modernity. During her performances, she is also accompanied by the bilûr, bass and percussion, which creates a harmonious interplay and brings out the diversity of traditional sounds.

In addition to her concert appearances, Dîlan is also active as a musician in theater productions, including at the Theaterhaus Hannover and the Kammerspiele München. She also took part in the book project "Kurdish Women Musicians" and the concert of the same name organized by the Institute for European Ethnomusicology at the University of Cologne.

With her music, Dîlan Top connects her cultural roots, shows emotional depth and at the same time opens up space for a dialog about language and culture.

Erkan Top, born in Dêrsim, is a Kurdish singer. He lived in Dêrsim until the age of 15 and then moved to Germany.

His powerful voice and stirring emotion make his interpretations unique. Memories resound in his singing - in all their facets and emotional nuances.

Erkan also accompanies himself on the tenbûr, which he learned at the Mainz World Music Academy. In addition, he composes and writes his own melodies, which continue to shape his musical identity.

Erkan is particularly known for his touching dengbêji interpretations, which he performs with great dedication and passion. An outstanding feature of his music is his free improvisation in the style of dengbêji, which gives his singing a special depth and an emotional and engaging expressiveness.

Erkan Top manages to tell stories with his music, building a bridge between past and present that deeply touches his audience.
