Die Wahrheiten

In the organizer's words:

Bruno and Sonja have been friends with Erik and Jana for 17 years. A friendship that has gone through many ups and downs. But then Erik and Jana suddenly end their friendship - with immediate effect, without explanation, and by text message. For Sonja and Bruno, this feels like "breaking up by text message". After giving free rein to their indignation and hurt, they set off in search of the reasons and a series of revelations of previously well-kept secrets take their course.
All four of them have to admit that things were not as clear-cut as they thought. Neither within the couple constellations nor in the friendships with the others. Too much has happened ... and they saw almost none of it coming.

Lutz Hübner and Sarah Nemitz allow their characters to talk about the same events and interpersonal relationships from different perspectives and with different levels of knowledge - thus revealing the dynamics of subjective truths and life lies.

"Truths" that people prefer to keep secret from the other person and which, once spoken openly, have the power to fundamentally change everything.

"The Truths" is a play about life plans, friendship, trust and power structures in relationships. The play is about boundaries and the individual feeling of when and how these boundaries are violated.
