Actress Gabriela Benesch and singer and pianist Alex Parker will take their guests on a musical journey through time, from evergreens such as "Ich weiß was ich will", "Ein ehrenwertes Haus", "Ich war noch niemals in New York", "Griechischer Wein", "Liebe ohne Leiden", "Merci Cherie", "Aber bitte mit Sahne", "Mit 66 Jahren" to "5 Minuten vor 12", "Mein Ziel" and many other hits.

Udo Jürgens was not a man who could be easily pigeonholed. Musically, he moved freely and light-heartedly between Schlager, chanson, jazz and pop music. In terms of content, he was committed to freedom, peace and, above all, love, and was not afraid to take the occasional stance. With 61 albums and over 400 singles in the charts, around 1,000 composed songs and more than 100 million records sold, he is one of the most successful solo artists in the world and is considered one of the most important German-speaking entertainers of the 20th and early 21st centuries.

"The Udo Jürgens Story" is the brainchild of Vienna-born actress Gabriela Benesch and her husband, Swiss director, actor and author Erich Furrer. Benesch is a close friend of the Jürgens family, knew Udo Jürgens personally and leads the evening as narrator. With humor and great empathy, she tells stories, incidents and anecdotes from Udo Jürgens' personal notes.

The artist, who was named best theater and film actress of the year, sends the audience on a journey from Udo Jürgens' childhood to his old age and provides deep insights into his career and his work - true to the motto "His life, his love, his music".

The narrative insights are musically accompanied by singer and pianist Alex Parker. It is not without reason that Parker is considered the best-known Udo Jürgens interpreter in the entire German-speaking world. In the style of his great idol, Parker knows how to create a unique, highly emotional atmosphere between himself and his audience. Udo Jürgens confirmed just how close he is to the original to the then 19-year-old Alex Parker himself when he overheard him singing in a hotel lobby.

The first tour of Germany in 2019/2020 already exceeded all expectations. For example, the production thrilled almost 1,500 visitors at the Bremen Musical Theater and was celebrated frenetically by the audience and press.
