On the Indonesian island of Java, a hermit lives in a hut on the edge of the rice fields. While searching for firewood, two children discover him and learn that this old man was once a shadow puppeteer. The old man tells them a mythical story from long ago. Together with the two children, we immerse ourselves in the magical tale of the 'princess who wanted to look under the moon'.
A story about love, friendship, courage and the strength to follow one's own heart.
Indonesian gamelan music and Wayang Kulit, the Javanese shadow puppet show, transport young and old audiences into a world that is foreign to us.
The performance features traditional Javanese shadow puppets, Balinese dance masks and handmade figures.
