Die neuen Abenteuer der Bremer Stadtmusikanten vom Teatro Due Mondi

The Italian Cultural Institute Cologne presents The New Adventures of the Town Musicians of Bremen, a performance by Compagnia Teatro Due Mondi: Friday, September 13, 5 p.m., in the IIC's theater hall.

What if the animals known as the Bremen Town Musicians from the Brothers Grimm stepped out of their fairy tale, were transported to the present day and strayed into our cities? What stories would they tell? And what if donkey, dog, cat and rooster - oh no, not the rooster, because the song says "the rooster is dead" and instead a goose joins the group - were to accidentally meet a stork who was trying to fulfill his task of distributing children to the families of the world, somewhat disoriented in front of an untraceable address... This is the starting point for the story of the new adventures of the Bremen Town Musicians in our time, on the streets of our countries and further through Europe. In search of a hospitable city that places humanity above outward appearances.
Like welcoming a child because it is a child, regardless of its origin, its skin color, because the history of the world is one of human movements between a place from which one has to move away or flee to a better one where one lands and builds a future.

Languages: Different languages are spoken in a mishmash understandable to all, one rhyme follows another, merging into song and enriched by references to the circus world and to musical comedies.

Teatro Due Mondi is an independent theater group from Faenza that tours the world with its street theater productions. Since its foundation in 1979, the group has been dealing with issues relating to coexistence in society. In addition to street theater, Teatro Due Mondi also produces theater for children and young people, organizes social theater projects, workshops, theater, dance and music programmes as well as European projects in collaboration with partners throughout Europe. In their performances, the actors use authentic street theater techniques such as a cappella singing, masks and stilt dancing and always seek direct, immediate contact with the audience.
