Book presentation and discussion with Prof. Dr. Sebastian Conrad and Dr. Anahita Mittertrainer (moderator) as part of the program accompanying the special exhibition Colonialism in Things on Thursday, 27 March 2025 at 7 pm.

In his 2024 publication, global historian Prof. Dr. Sebastian Conrad tells the story of a sensation and a global career: the bust of Nefertiti was discovered in 1912 and presented to the public for the first time in Berlin in 1924.
Conrad gives a new, global perspective to the hotly debated question of appropriation and restitution of this work of art. He shows how an archaeological find became an icon of global modernism.
