Witnesses from the earth - heard by Florian Kaiser. Loosely based on the memoirs of a grandfather.

The potatoes can only wonder! The youngest son of a potato farmer sets out to conquer the world. They are used to a lot in their soil, which is sometimes French and sometimes German, depending on the fortunes of war. But they rub their eyes in disbelief! He should have been a priest! And anyway! That's how a soldier behaves! He's not a tourist! He's supposed to be conquering the country, not enjoying it! At least he doesn't forget to kill when he's enjoying himself. But none of this is serious! He thinks he's fighting on the wrong side? Is that a patriot? And yet he makes a career out of it. And the potatoes underground are getting crowded, so many people want to get down there. A wild chase, a daring ride from a childhood in the village Middle Ages into the snarling modern age.
