der/gelbe/klang - re:RIEDL

In the organizer's words:

The music and work of Josef Anton Riedl (1927-2016) have long fascinated Mathias Lachenmayr, percussionist in the ensemble der/gelbe/klang. "His radical approach, which allows for an immense wealth of facets, exerts a great fascination on me." Most of Riedl's works are neither published nor archived in digital space. "The knowledge of performance practice, which was developed exclusively on a personal basis during Riedl's lifetime, is not recorded anywhere and is being lost." Lachenmayr is therefore contacting players from Riedl's generation in order to discover and record approaches to this performance practice. It is crucial to him that it is continued in a lively way, which is why he combines the music of Josef Anton Riedl with world premieres of two commissioned works.
