Attorney General Fritz Bauer fights a relentless battle against the criminals of the Nazi regime. In 1957, while many Germans would like to close this dark chapter of history forever, Bauer receives a tip about the whereabouts of the SS-Obersturmbannführer Adolf Eichmann, who has gone into hiding. Supported by the young public prosecutor Karl Angermann, Bauer begins his investigation. But he soon comes up against walls everywhere and important documents disappear even in his own office. It gradually becomes clear that higher authorities are sabotaging Bauer's research. (v.f.)
