Limanakia Beach is a social and sexual hotspot for the queer community in Athens. This is where friends Demos and Nikitas, both in their early 30s and aspiring filmmakers, meet. Actor Nikitas is fed up with always being cast in the same gay roles and wants to finally see his own experiences on the big screen. While the men swim and make out around them, Nikitias pitches a movie idea to his friend. It's supposed to be about the events of a past summer, Demo's emotional reunion with his ex Panos and Panos' cute dog Carmen.

Director and author Zacharias Mavroeidis develops a meta-reflexive and highly erotic film experience from a summer sunbathing session against a casual backdrop, playfully switching back and forth between time and narrative levels and shedding new light on a friendship. "Summer with Carmen" is a ravishing bromance that shows that Greek cinema can not only be abysmal, but also playful, sexy and super queer!
