THE NINO FROM VIENNA

Nino made songwriting history, triggered the Austropop revival and has influenced countless bands directly or indirectly ever since. Among German-speaking pop musicians, Nino Mandl writes some of the best lyrics. He has been coming to Berlin since 2009 to delight connoisseurs on the other side of the Danube. A visit is worthwhile, because his presence alone and his special sense of humor are heart-warming. On December 8, Nino will be coming to the frannz club to present, among other things, his latest album "endlich Wienerlieder". The incredible Edna Million will be playing in the supporting program. "It was a long year because I was so slow" is the introduction to the new album "endlich Wienerlieder". (Release 15.03.2024, Medienmanufaktur Vienna). The album is dedicated to Nino's grandfather Rudolf Mandl, a Wienerlied singer. For Nino, a "tribute to my family connection to the Viennese music tradition." Whether Nino will now travel from Heuriger to Heuriger to offer his art of song to the merry company cannot be promised. What you definitely get is a deep examination of the artist's life, from different eras. There is a certain kinship with Nino's "Cookbook Take 16". The album also features special guests. For example, he sings an ode to the Viennese together with Ernst Molden on his version of "La Paloma".
