On April 6, 2006, Halit Yozgat was shot dead in an Internet café in Kassel. Members of the so-called National Socialist Underground were identified as the perpetrators. The trial for the NSU murders was disappointing for Halit Yozgat's relatives. The NSU verdict did not clarify important questions, including the dubious role of the domestic secret service. In his opera, Australian composer and director Ben Frost takes the NSU murder of Halit Yozgat and the way society deals with its consequences as an opportunity to examine our cultural value system. Is there justice when the truth is constantly being reconstructed?
