Spain 1935: Shortly before the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, young teacher Antoni Benaiges takes over the elementary school in a small, remote village. He quickly builds up a trusting relationship with his class and makes a promise: During the summer vacation, he wants to show them the sea, which the children have never seen before. However, Benaiges' friendly interaction with the children and his anti-authoritarian methods are viewed with suspicion by parents and village leaders.

Laia Costa (German Film Award 2015 for VICTORIA) returns to the big screen alongside Enric Auquer, whose captivating performance takes viewers' hearts by storm. In its home country of Spain, the film received five GOYA nominations and attracted over 250,000 moviegoers.
