Der italienische Patient - eine musikalische Lesung

In the organizer's words:

Christian Blanck feat. Parallel
The Italian Patient. A musical reading.

"No, this is not a vacation trip or a new car project." But that's exactly what many of Blanck's private and professional circle thought at the beginning of his time out, when the first pictures with an old Fiat were shown. In Christian Blanck's sixth book, "The Italian Patient", much revolves around the subject of cars, but this time the story revolves even more around the author himself. He has sensed that the tank is empty. A professional blow throws him off course. He falls into a hole and thinks about what needs to be done differently, how his life can regain new energy and the usual lightness. He looked for a different way to overcome the crisis: Instead of the hiking trail, he chose the asphalt and bought a 53-year-old Fiat 500 in southern Italy to venture on an adventurous journey across Italy.

Blanck's "I'm off to enjoy the Dolce Vita" begins in the small provincial town of Cosenza and continues with stops in Matera, Alberobello, Naples, Amalfi, Rome, Parma and many more throughout Italy back to Germany, 3,000 km on his own wheels. But of course, not everything went as planned: the Fiat was an old lady and was a bitch, Blanck couldn't get past the police and at times lost faith in the success of his plan.

And yet giving up was never an issue. Blanck rediscovered Italy for himself. Authentic and far away from many tourist trails. His never-ending source of strength, music, was a special lever here. The Stuttgart duo Parallel around Koray Cinar and Francesco Caruso occupies a very special place in his heart here, long before the start in Italy. The three have not only been working together for over a decade, they are also friends. They have shared countless wonderful moments, and a few bad ones too. That's what friendship is all about. Blanck says on the occasion of his trip: "Without Francesco, I would probably still be looking for a Fiat in Italy today." It is not in the universe to buy a classic car in southern Italy as a non-Italian and be able to drive it home.

The two musicians were involved in the planning and ideas from the very first minute, and also contributed musically to the book's title song "The Day before we met".

This and many more parallel songs as well as Italian music classics, collected on the streets of Italy, will not only make this evening an entertaining reading, it will be a German-Italian musical journey to look forward to. A reading that includes singing and dancing. Sounds wonderfully Italian...

Facts about Parallel

German pop music. Friends. Party. Heart. Fun. Sometimes critical, but with charm. And one thing above all: always pure entertainment! That's Parallel. That's Koray and Francesco, also known as the Stuttgart duo Parallel!

Their studio album "Bühnen aus Asphalt" and their latest songs always make for an entertaining live program. The two thoroughbred musicians from Stuttgart live for live moments like these. If this life were a movie, they would speak one language. Hep Beraber! Noi! Whenever a 100,000 watt smile flashes across the stage, the two of them switch to slo-mo and enjoy 10 seconds together with the big sister of Nett real trash & diamonds in Nike & jeans! Disconnected? Impossible.

The two thoroughbred musicians show this at their own concerts, at festivals, at city festivals, as support for the Fantastische Vier, James Blunt & Co, at anniversary celebrations as well as in the industry. Porsche. REWE. Mercedes-Benz. All of them and many more trust Parallel live on stage and bring Koray and Francesco back to their stages again and again. We'll manage that! Now also for the first time in the Theaterhaus in a double bill with Christian Blanck on the occasion of his reading of the book.
