The God of Carnage**

Two boys fight in the park, one of them knocks out two of the other's teeth. You might think this is something that happens every day all over the world - but not in Yasmina Reza's play, which is famous far beyond the borders of France. The two "unrestrained" bullies are hardly the focus of the bizarre play. The two pairs of parents become more and more involved in a "slaughter", far removed from the action in the park. The boys are just a means to an end of self-destruction. They drink coffee, eat cake, try to maintain a semblance of decency at first, but become more and more entangled in a maelstrom of aggression and irreconcilability with each passing minute. Absurd and insulting, ultimately also physical "exchanges of blows" escalate immeasurably. The audience is inevitably drawn into this "carnage".
