"In a world myriad as ours, the gaze is a singular act: to look at something is to fill your whole life with it, if only briefly." (Ocean Vuong) - The works of Finnish choreographer Milla Koistinen are characterized by a subtle play with repetition and gestures, stillness and movement, recognizably everyday and poetically alienated images. The overlaps between dance, visual art and music are a constant fascination and driving force behind her choreographies. She is always interested in finding new ways to involve the audience in her work. Milla Koistinen's works touch on the porous relationships between distance and proximity, order and chaos, gathering and alienation - and extend an invitation to explore the real and imaginary spaces of our collective memory. Together with Unusual Symptoms, Milla Koistinen will develop a work at Theater Bremen for the first time.
