allo dear hiking friends,
It's finally time to get going again - here is the first tour of 2025:

I am delighted to open the 2025 hiking season with a hike in the southern Harz region. It goes from Walkenried via the Roter Schuss viewpoint to Ellrich.
We will meet at Göttingen station at 9:30 and take the RB towards Nordhausen to Walkenried at 9:49. Boarding is possible in Nörten and Northeim. In Walkenried we will meet the individual arrivals and set off along the karst hiking trail to the border hiking trail and via the Zweiländereiche, Stiefmutter and Wandeleiche to the Roter Schuss viewpoint, where we will take a break. Then descend to Ellrich, where you can stop off at the Nikolaicafe. Then take the hourly train back to Göttingen or to the starting point in Walkenried.
The hike is approx. 17 km long and there are 300 meters of altitude to overcome.
Hikers with the Harz hiking stamp booklet can obtain the following stamps: Stepmother, Wall Oak, Red Shot and special stamp Zweiländereiche.
