Welcome by Jakob Meyer (Chairman of the EVZ Foundation). With an opening speech on Eyes Open Cinema Day by Prof. Dr. Dr. Michel Friedman, followed by a themed discussion What's happening to me in the past? Everything!

The animated film THE MOST PRECIOUS OF ALL GOODS by Oscar winner Michel Hazanavicius (including THE ARTIST) is the screen adaptation of the bestseller of the same name by renowned French playwright and children's book author Jean-Claude Grumberg and tells the dramatic story of a foundling thrown from a deportation train who is found and raised by a childless couple. This child, the most precious of all possessions, fundamentally changes the lives of the couple and all those whose paths it crosses. In cinemas nationwide from March 6!

To the Eyes Open Cinema Day

On January 27, 2025, the Eyes Open Cinema Day will take place for the first time to commemorate the victims of National Socialism. The top-class program with guests, audience premiere, panel discussion & school cinema offers invites you to remember, exchange and meet.

The aim is to convince young people in particular of how important it is to engage with the past and reflect on it today. Because there is only one answer to the question "What's happening in the past?": Everything.

The Augen auf-Kinotag is conceived and realized by the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ) and the agency Jetzt & Morgen. VISION KINO, Network for Film and Media Competence, will provide educational support for the cinema day.
