Whitney Bursch (she/her) is a Black art therapist and comic artist.

Her comics are about her feelings. Powerlessness and anger, grief and crush, loneliness and warm closeness. Whitney deals with these themes in a humorous way without denying them their profundity.

In the zine workshop "feels feels feels", participants will create zines that deal with their feelings. Each person is encouraged to take a specific situation as an opportunity to give the feelings they experience colors, shapes, words, stories, faces and images. The aim is that we learn a method to get back in touch with our feelings, regardless of whether they are well-liked or less well-liked feelings, and to create something of our own with them. Society often doesn't care about our feelings, but at least we want to be familiar with them.

The workshop is primarily aimed at Black participants, but is open to everyone.

The workshop lasts 3 hours and is recommended for ages 14 and up.

As part of the current exhibition "Black Comics - From Colonialism to Black Panther", Whitney Bursch will be visiting for the comic workshop.

In addition to the workshop, there will be a comic reading with Whitney Bursch at schauraum: comic + cartoon on the same day at 18:00.
