Circuit des Yeux is the moniker of Haley Fohr, a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter based in Chicago. Fohr has released albums via De Stijl, Thrill Jockey, and Drag City which have established her as one of the American underground's most celebrated figures. Circuit Des Yeux's 2021 debut on Matador Records, -io, received acclaim from outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, NPR, MOJO and The Wire. Recent collaborations include Claire Rousay, Bill Nace, Steve Gunn, Erika Dohi, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus choir, and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe. Her second album on Matador will arrive in 2025.
Circuit des Yeux has released new song 'GOD DICK'. A connective sonic link between Circuit des Yeux's acclaimed last album, -io, and a new one to follow in the new year on Matador, 'GOD DICK' morphs from symphonic swells and staccato strings to a spiraling 170 BPM drum machine cliffhanger, narrated by Fohr's sonorous vocal.
"GOD DICK serves as a sort of chrysalis function," says Fohr, "it's passage leading from the past toward things to come. It's sweaty, exponential, cacophonous, growing, symphonic, and relentless. I wrote this as an effort to embody a state of change fueled by deep wanting. I sonically (and visually) imagined something huge hiding in a skin much too small for it - a kind of love banshee bursting through porcelain skin one hair at a time until finally, the beast within is fully on display."
CdY has also announced new tour dates for 2025 which will see her performing with a full band in the UK and Europe, as well as solo performances supporting Alan Sparkhawk.
