Cinema Europa: Surf on, Europe!

As in previous years as part of the Europe Weeks, we cordially invite you to our "Cinema Europa" again this year. As part of this series of events, we are presenting films that deal thematically with Europe.

On May 14 at 10:00 a.m., we will be showing the film "Surf on, Europe!" at City 46/ Kommunalkino Bremen e.V. . Following the screening, the directors of the film, Constantin Gross and Lukas Steinbrecher, will be available for an open Q&A session.

The film is primarily aimed at teachers and school classes from the 10th grade upwards, but interested private individuals are also very welcome. Admission is free, but please register in advance at Cinema Europa: Surf on, Europe!- EuropaPunktBremen, as places are limited.

About the movie:

The movie: "Surf on, Europe!" is about three surfing enthusiasts with social and political hurdles, they are torn between the freedom of the waves and the limits of society: Majid, a kitesurfing instructor in Tarifa, longs for his family in Morocco who are stuck there because of visa restrictions. Margaux organizes the first LGBTQ-friendly surf festival in Europe in Biarritz. And Rosy, a Northern Irish surfboard shaper, is looking for support in the midst of a deeply divided community. "Surf on, Europe!" explores Europe's promise of freedom and the ongoing challenges that threaten it.
