Curtain up for CINELATINO

The CINELATINO film festival presents exciting cinematic discoveries from Spain and Latin America. Germany's most important platform for Spanish and Latin American cinema in four cities in Baden-Württemberg provides an overview of current auteur cinema from the various countries. CINELATINO offers its audience fascinating insights into distant cultures, rarities of international cinema and encounters with renowned filmmakers.

Caribbean flair at CINELATINO

This year's 32nd CineLatino and 22nd CineEspañol will focus on the Dominican Republic and offer a cinematic insight into everyday life in the island nation. The importance of sugar production and Afro-Dominican traditions as well as the harsh reality of life for young people dealing with drugs and teenage pregnancies will be highlighted.

Focus on climate policy

CINELATINO is dedicating this year's thematic focus to climate policy issues under the title "Indigenous Amazonia - Guardians of the Climate?". The focus is on the preservation of indigenous cultures and identities in the midst of the constant threat posed by the illegal and uncontrolled exploitation of their environment. A selection of films by indigenous and non-indigenous filmmakers will deepen our understanding of these issues.

In addition to these focal points, there will of course also be numerous other Latin American and Spanish films to watch. Exciting guests will also be invited.
