Raise the curtain: The CINELATINO film festival presents exciting cinematic discoveries from Spain and Latin America. Germany's most important platform for Spanish and Latin American cinema in four cities in Baden-Württemberg offers an overview of current auteur cinema from the various countries. What began with a handful of films in a small 80-seat cinema is now one of the most traditional film festivals in Tübingen. Today, it offers its audiences fascinating insights into distant cultures, rarities of international cinema and encounters with renowned filmmakers.

Caribbean flair at CINELATINO

This year's 32nd CineLatino and 22nd CineEspañol will focus on the Dominican Republic and offer a cinematographic insight into everyday life in the island nation. The importance of sugar production and Afro-Dominican traditions as well as the harsh reality of life for young people dealing with drugs and teenage pregnancies will be highlighted.

Focus on climate policy

In cooperation with junior professor Dr. Riccarda Flemmer from the University of Tübingen, CINELATINO is dedicating this year's thematic focus to climate policy issues under the title "Indigenous Amazonia - Guardians of the Forest?". In addition to the film selection, a panel discussion offers the opportunity to engage with the knowledge of indigenous peoples and their struggle for nature.
