The Mummy is a 1932 drama by Karl Freund with Boris Karloff and Zita Johann.

Boris Karloff's legendary portrayal of the mummy Im-ho-tep, who is accidentally brought back to life after 3700 years by a team of British archaeologists, has gone down in the annals of film history. In flashbacks, we learn that Im-ho-tep was once a high priest who was embalmed alive because he had tried to bring the temple virgins he loved back to life after they had been sacrificed. Now he sets out in search of his beloved.
