Christiane Schauder on her seventieth birthday

The exhibition will show works from the last three decades and more recent ones. Large-format gestural paintings slowly developed into a contemplative style of painting that appears flat and monochrome, but consists of 20 or more layers of paint. Material: approx. 80 % acrylic, everything else and wax, in recent years increasingly printed paper and book pages.

For her commitment to cultural and social initiatives, Christiane Schauder was awarded the Medal of Merit of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate in 2014 and the Gutenberg Plaque of the State Capital of Mainz for special services to culture and art in 2018.
