BRD 2019, documentary film, 86 min
Director: Nicola Alice Hens
with: Marthe Hoffnung Cohn (alias Chichinette)
Language: OmU (English, French with German subtitles)
At the age of 96, Marthe Cohn travels the world with impressive energy to share (her) story with younger generations. Full of wit and charm, the "Chichinette" (little pain in the neck) captivates her audience - and with her incredible life story: as a French Jew from Metz, she helped other Jews to escape during the Second World War, but lost close relatives who were deported. In 1945, she decided to risk her life as a spy for the Allies in Nazi Germany and fight for the end of the war.
In partly animated images, the film depicts an impressive life and observes the now 104-year-old activist, who knows that she doesn't have much time left to report and call for resistance.
