US/Canadian heavy doom band Castle have just announced new European tour dates to promote their latest album "Evil Remains", which was released in September 2024 via Hammerheart Records. A full list of confirmed shows can be found below.
Castle comments on the tour: "We didn't see enough of Europe on the last Evil Remains tour, so we're returning! We're super excited to be playing a few festivals on this tour including Muskelrock, Battle Cry Fest (and another one we can't announce yet!) ... plus a week of our own headlining shows. We're also changing up the setlist this time and will have another track from the new album for you all to hear. See you out there on tour!"
Over the years, Castle has maintained a rigorous touring schedule, playing nearly 700 shows between 2012 and 2019. They've shared the stage with artists such as The Sword, Conan, Intronaut and Pentagram and performed at well-known festivals such as Roadburn Festival and Desertfest.
"Evil Remains" is a hook-laden heavy metal ride into Nosferatu nights.
After a six-year hiatus and with recharged black magic, Castle have delivered a riff colossus in a hook-laden blend of doom and psychedelic classic metal. Elizabeth Blackwell's haunting, full-blooded vocals add to the atmosphere of majestic doom and is an electrifying witchy anthem to death and madness; "Hear my warning, heed my call" indeed.
Recorded at Raincity Recorders in Vancouver, B.C., by producer Jesse Gander (Anciients, 3 Inches Of Blood, Brutus), Evil Remains strikes a sonic balance between the warm and cajoling and the bombastic power of a stadium rock band from an alternate universe. Bassist/vocalist Elizabeth Blackwell and guitarist/vocalist Mat Davis take their unique female and male vocal attack and searing, serpentine riffs to dizzying new heights. Rounded out by the thunderous precision of drummer Mike Cotton, Evil Remains delivers a metallic knock-out punch from the first note to the last of its eight powerful tracks.
The songwriting process spanned a five-year period - beginning in Castle's then-hometown of Joshua Tree, California after a year-long tour for their previous album Deal Thy Fate - and culminating last year in pre-production sessions in the band's new hometowns of San Francisco and Vancouver. Since storming out of San Francisco in 2011 with their debut album In Witch Order, Castle have toured relentlessly, playing nearly 700 shows across three continents. The live ritual continues this year with dates in North America and Europe.
