Capitol Classic Lounge "Glanzstücke"

In this Capitol Classic Lounge, it shines and sparkles everywhere. The young New York jazz trumpeter and composer Danny Jonokuchi has written a new work especially for the Capitol Symphony Orchestra, in which he takes on the solo part on the trumpet. Also on board for this world premiere are pianist Cora Irsen and her husband, French horn player Jörg Brückner.

While Professor Brückner is here, he brings along three of his best students - the four of them form the solo quartet for Robert Schumann's "Concert Piece for Four Horns and Orchestra".

The horns are also a main protagonist in Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 in E flat major. The "Eroica" is one of the most gripping orchestral works in the entire history of music.
