A shirt on a washing line tells a love story, a reflection in a puddle a whole life. The poetry of Brazilian poet Ana Martins Marques usually manages with just a few words. Fragments of everyday life, situations, things, observations that point beyond themselves, illuminating the inner self, appear like brushstrokes.
Translator Michael Kegler reads in German and excerpts in Portuguese and talks to publisher Martin Pflanzer (Hagebutte Verlag) about the work on the recently published book. The music on this evening will also build a poetic bridge to Brazil: Martin Lickleder, Claudia Kaiser and Ralf Nickolaus will play Bossa Nova in their own German-language rendition.
