Brit Floyd - WISH YOU WERE HERE - CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF PINK FLOYD'S ICONIC ALBUM

Brit Floyd are one of the most successful tribute bands of our time. Since 2011, they have played over 1,000 concerts worldwide and performed in venues such as the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and the Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan, covering the complete musical oeuvre of British rock band Pink Floyd. After touring "The Dark Side Of The Moon" in 2023 and "The Division Bell" in 2024, the band led by singer and guitarist Damian Darlington is now also dedicating itself to the classic album "Wish You Were Here". To mark the 50th anniversary of the 1975 album, the tribute band will present the album in full and also perform some of the band's classics. With an impressive laser and light show as well as theatrical staging, the two-and-a-half-hour concert will be a multi-dimensional spectacle that pays tribute to Pink Floyd's musical legacy across the board. In October 2025, Brit Floyd will be performing their sophisticated Pink Floyd interpretations live at eight concerts in Germany on their "WISH YOU WERE HERE 50th Anniversary World Tour".

Founded in 2011 by mastermind Damian Darlington in Liverpool, Brit Floyd emerged from The Australian Pink Floyd Show, as Darlington was convinced that he could offer an even better tribute show. The musician came into contact with Pink Floyd at the age of 13, saw them for the first time in 1994 and formed his first tribute band in the same year. Together with world-class musicians such as Ian Cattell (bass and vocals), Arran Ahmun (drums), multi-instrumentalist Ryan Sranich and many other changing musicians, he created a unique tribute band experience with Brit Floyd and toured the world with Pink Floyd's entire discography.

Looking back at Pink Floyd's most successful years, "Wish You Were Here" stands at the center between "The Dark Side Of The Moon" (1973) and "The Wall", released in 1979, both of which are undoubtedly among the most important albums of the 70s. Classified as Pink Floyd's "classic phase" in the band's oeuvre, they still contain the psychedelic sounds and soundscapes from the 1960s, albeit with new influences. Framed within the experimental and jazz-induced 25 minutes of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", which itself is divided into nine parts, the electronically charged track "Welcome To The Machine", the bluesy "Have A Cigar" and the balladic title track stand for an experimental art rock sound that once again pushed the genre boundaries for Pink Floyd. Today, they are still regarded as one of the most important and successful bands in progressive rock and "Wish You Were Here" as a milestone in their career.
