Ageing is an imposition! Zoe, Nico, Fiffy, Tristan and Dennis think so too. The five of them have been friends for ages. They are currently struggling with funeral preparations and living wills, while the next wine hike in Gore-Tex jackets is coming up at the weekend. Dennis doesn't want any more of this and rebels. But how can you actually age gracefully? Perhaps by adapting the lifestyle of Australia's Bondi Beach? From Monday to Friday, people there live a completely healthy life with a lot of mindfulness, without cigarettes, alcohol and carbohydrates. Then from Friday evening: forty-eight hours of complete excess and gluttony before the detox phase begins on Sunday afternoon. The best of both worlds, so to speak, says Dennis. The others thankfully decline, continue to reminisce about their youthful party life and wistfully list all the things they have missed so far. Perhaps a three-week beach vacation in Florida for their milestone birthday will be their salvation?
Author Rebekka Kricheldorf, who wowed audiences with FRÄULEIN AGNES in the 22/23 season, delivers another sharp-witted comedy for the Antoniushaus with BONDI BEACH. With pointed dialog, this play poses existential questions about getting older with a wink.
