The tango at BLUE NOTE has existed since May 2005. The dance evening arose from the idea of giving the tango scene - in addition to the regular Tuesday evening in the Gesellschaftshaus - a second evening for practicing.

While you have to register as a couple for other couple dances, you can come to the lessons in the Blue Note individually and join in the Básico - every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 3.00 pm. There I introduce those interested to the secrets of the tango elements.

From 4 p.m. there is a Práctica, where tango enthusiasts can refine their technique under the guidance of Johanna and Lutz.

Finally, from 5 p.m. you can dance freely and show off everything you have learned so far. We have changing DJs until 10 p.m. who play the most beautiful tangos from earlier years for tango fans. We are now a team of five people (Sybille, Johanna, Lutz, Thijs and Andy) who warmly welcome everyone.... even the "onlookers"! You can never tell how many people will come on an evening like this, it can sometimes vary from 12 to 50 dancers. In any case, the atmosphere is very informal and newcomers are always warmly welcomed.

Tango Argentino exerts a special fascination on many people because they try to recognize a structure and understand how this dance works. Yet it is only a language, a non-verbal one. Two people who merge into one axis and have a dialog to the music. There are rules about how to behave on the dance floor and how to behave towards your partners. Argentine tango is a social dance where you learn to improvise. That's what makes it so exciting. And it's good for the mind, body and soul. It's an addiction, but a beautiful one - tango dancing!
