Jazzfest and Blitz Club team up for the third time to celebrate not just one, but two evenings of Munich's Jazzfest this November! Blitz's high-precision sound and room design and Jazz music's highly refined, present day musicianship prove to be a fruitful combination and we're happy to open our doors for another evening full of stunning and current crossover-jazz blends that scrape dance music, pop and many more influences.

Mr. Vertigo
Mr. Vertigo is modern power-groove music, combining the sophistication of jazz, the melancholy of indie rock, and the lightness of pop. Drummers Daniel Mudrack and Florian Haas alternate between playing in unison and weaving intricate rhythms, creating a rhythmic foundation for Ursus Bachthaler (Stratocaster) and Thomas Bauser (keys) to develop their expressive solos. Their performances are grounded by a warm, agile bass that ties the music together yet propels it forward. Ursus Bachthaler has dedicated several of his compositions to musicians who have accompanied and influenced him over the past decade. The spirit of Bon Iver, Me'Shell Ndegeocello, John Scofield, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Nir Felder, and Scott Henderson resonates through this unique music.

Guvvy
Three multitasking virtuosos celebrate 90s hip-hop beats on a psychedelic boom-pop journey. Trippy vocal lines, grooving guitar riffs, and some of the tightest Boom Bap beats Munich has ever produced are Guvvy's trademarks. Though their musical backgrounds are diverse, their love for 90s hip-hop is what unites them, along with their unmatched playfulness and energy. Guvvy blends hip-hop, indie, and psychedelic music-anything goes, as long as it's fun. After establishing themselves as sought-after studio and live musicians for artists like Max Mutzke, Joris, Birgit Minichmayr, and Alma Naidu, the trio finally launched their own project in the fall of 2022. With a minimal setup delivering maximum sound, they are one of a kind.

Biboul Darouiche - The Latin Band
In early 1980s Munich, Biboul Darouiche co-founded > Conjunto Boriquen < alongside Toni Perez, César Granados, Luis Monge, and Pasha Darouiche, launching one of the first Descarga sessions. These gatherings of various jazz musicians quickly led to the formation of "Connexion Latina," Germany's first salsa orchestra. With The Latin Band, Biboul aims to revive this tradition. La Descarga (the discharge) is back!

Rounding out the night are Blitz residents the Zenker Brothers, playing a selection of records they rarely showcase during club nights!

For the third year in a row, the Jazzfest and the Blitz Club are joining forces to celebrate Munich's Jazzfest on two evenings in November! That means: virtuoso grooves and impressive musical craftsmanship in the extraordinary acoustics of the Blitz Club. Two evenings full of breathtaking, modern crossover jazz blends that celebrate influences from dance music, pop and much more.

Mr. Vertigo
Mr. Vertigo is modern power groove music with the smartness of jazz, the melancholy of indie rock and the lightness of pop. The two drummers Daniel Mudrack and Florian Haas provide the rhythm carpet, sometimes in unison, sometimes tightly interlocked, on which Ursus Bachthaler (Stratocaster) and Thomas Bauser (Keys) develop their expressive, sometimes gently poetic solos, depending on the song, underpinned by an agile, warm bass that holds the music together and drives it forward. Ursus Bachthaler has dedicated some of his compositions to musicians who have accompanied and influenced him over the last decade. And so the spirit of Bon Iver, Me'Shell Nedegeocello, John Scofield, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Nir Felder and Scott Henderson wafts through this absolutely unmistakably independent music.

Guvvy
Three multitasking masters celebrate 90s hip hop beats on a psychedelic boom pop trip. Trippy vocal lines, uncompromisingly grooving guitar riffs and probably the tightest boom-bap beats that Munich has ever produced - these are the trademarks of Guvvy. Their musical backgrounds are different, but what unites them is their love of 90s hip hop and the trio's unbeatable joy and ease of playing: Guvvy mix hip hop, indie and psychedelic - anything goes, as long as it's fun. After making a name for themselves as sought-after studio and live musicians with artists such as Max Mutzke, Joris, Birgit Minichmayr and Alma Naidu, the time was ripe for Guvvy - their very own band project - in the fall of 2022: the minimal line-up with maximum sound yield is unique: guitarist Lukas plays his specially designed hybrid guitar and mixes the sound of electric bass and electric guitar - in a single instrument.

Biboul Darouiche - The Latin Band
Biboul Darouiche founded the first Descarga, known as "Conjunto Boriquen", together with Toni Perez, César Granados, Luis Monge and Pasha Darouiche in Munich at the beginning of the 1980s. A wide variety of jazz musicians came together at these sessions, which soon led to the formation of "Connexion Latina", Germany's first salsa orchestra. With The Latin Band, this tradition will be brought back to life.

Zenker Brothers
The two Blitz Club residents and Ilian Tape label operators will close the evening with a set and a selection of many special records that rarely find a place in a club night.
