Benefit concert by the Blaswerk Leipzig - student wind orchestra in aid of the GeyserHaus e.V. "Musik macht schlau" project.

Rhythm, vocals, trumpets and co - what sounds like a big band is actually a student wind orchestra that is ready to help the last lazy dancer get back on their feet with a groovy sound and a rousing program.
With its unusual line-up of wind instruments of all kinds, paired with bass, drums and vocals, a multi-faceted and always exciting repertoire can be realized. From old-school big band to iconic film music, to hot Latin American rhythms and party classics, the program leaves nothing to be desired and guarantees a bes(ch)winged evening (or morning, or midday).

"We are very pleased about the Blaswerk Orchestra's commitment to 'Musik macht schlau', because it is always something special when musicians are committed to promoting young musical talent. This often leads to musical encounters between the sponsors and the sponsored, which is a special moment for everyone involved. With their benefit concert, Blaswerk join an illustrious group of musicians who are already involved in the project: the band Keimzeit, the MDR choir, the Calmus Ensemble and, of course, patron David Timm. But every citizen of Leipzig can also get involved with a donation and make an annual scholarship possible for one of the 25 current scholarship holders. Blaswerk is supporting the music lessons of a saxophone student with the benefit concert. With the 'Musik macht schlau' scholarship program, GeyserHaus and the 'Bürger für Leipzig' foundation have been providing free music lessons for children from socially disadvantaged families since 2008."
