The Black Velvet Band transforms the Kulturscheune into an Irish pub

The three thoroughbred musicians got to know each other while making music on the street. Even after six CDs and countless concert appearances, Peter Wendel (guitar, mandolin), Udo Hafner (guitar, flute, vocals) and Christian Hartung (violin, vocals) have not lost their vitality, cheerfulness and spontaneity. Quite the opposite. The Black Velvet Band manages to do in no time at all what other groups either seem to be tough or contrived or simply fail to achieve: getting the audience to join in. Udo Hafner turns out to be the animator of an interactive Irish folk show: "Rule number one: open your mouth. Rule number two: sing off key rather than quietly. Rule number three: the lyrics are meaningless anyway."
