Betrayers of Babylon:
Imagine Seeed, Vulfpeck and Cat Empire making music together: that's what the Betrayers of Babylon sound like. Their colorful mix of reggae and global groove unfolds a highly infectious energy. Humorous, playful lyrics spread optimism and open-mindedness. The band from Essen has been touring from festival to festival since 2011 in order to defeat the widespread disease of bad moods. Dammnation:
Dammnation is probably the most brutal new band on the scene. Dripping, honest instrumental funk that makes you push your lips forward, that makes you groove, that loosens the dam and simply lets the energy flow. Dammnation is music for perineal massage, with a nod in the direction of The Meters and the late Grant Green. One moment we're dancing and sweating in a club somewhere in New York that's far too cramped and the air far too stuffy, the next we're sitting on the west coast of Sardinia, drinking Campari Spritz with a slice of lemon, gazing dreamily into the sunset and humming schmaltzy Italian songs about love.
