Four years after "Wir sind die Vielen", Bernadette La Hengst finally returns in November 2023 with her new album "Visionäre Leere". She stands alone in the desert on the cover of her seventh solo album, watering her guitar with a watering can - a bizarre, irritating image. Is she filling the void with new musical pop visions? Because where there is nothing, there can be something.

Seemingly humorous, but also full of sadness. Can everything always become something again? How long does it take for something to happen again? Once again, she traces all the upheavals, injustices and contradictions, the helplessness and apparent hopelessness. Once again, she does not remain on the polished, unquestioned surface, she digs deep, asks questions and does not let up.

And yet Visionäre Leere does not remain stuck in despair, there is always hope, because: Where there is nothing, there can be something.

Yes, Bernadette La Hengst has been making music intensively for a long time. But she is also a theater director and author, choir director, radio broadcaster and, for some years now, a presenter with her own show on Radio Eins. At her concerts, Bernadette La Hengst knows how to sweep her audience away with electro-dance earworms, krautbeat and swinging lovers' soul. The beats are fat, the charm disarming. Political, feminist - Bernadette still knows how to unite point of view and revolt in a magically grooving way. The energy of her former band "Die Braut haut ins Auge" (The Bride Hits the Eye) still sparks a few sparks here, which are currently being carried on by her backing band - the Ladettes - consisting of changing line-ups.
