Before Then (with guests):

Mengzhu invites her grandmother to participate in her art project by reading out a poem. While the grandmother repeatedly pronounces the Chinese characters, she does not realize that they have already phonetically transformed into English. In this way, the director dares to show her feelings and emotions towards her grandmother for the first time.

Mirjam (with guests):

A life with the memory of the Mauthausen concentration camp. Memories from the Jewish resistance in Amsterdam. Mirjam Ohringer survived National Socialism as a Jew. She later motivated young people to take a stand against injustice, racism and fascism. At the sites of her memories, she talks about growing up in the resistance, life during the occupation and the losses that still have an impact today.
